The Problem

Smartifly required a complete IPTV and OTT streaming ecosystem capable of delivering a consistent viewing experience across mobile devices, smart televisions and web browsers.

The main challenge was not simply building a video player. The platform needed to manage large libraries of live television channels, movies and series while supporting different screen sizes, remote-control navigation patterns, streaming formats and operating-system limitations.

Users also needed fast authentication, organized content discovery, reliable playback, playlist synchronization and a consistent interface across Android, iOS, webOS, Tizen, Android TV and the web. Maintaining separate applications without a unified product strategy would have created inconsistent features and increased long-term maintenance costs.

Our Strategy

Motive Solutions approached Smartifly as a connected multi-platform product rather than a collection of independent applications.

A shared product structure was created around authentication, playlist synchronization, content categories, live channels, movies, television series, media playback and user preferences. Each application was then optimized for the interaction model of its target platform.

Mobile applications were designed for touch navigation, television applications for directional remotes and large-screen viewing, and the web player for browser-based accessibility. Offline-first data handling, local caching and controlled synchronization were introduced to improve loading performance and reduce unnecessary API requests.

The Solution

Motive Solutions developed a complete IPTV and OTT application ecosystem across multiple consumer platforms.

The delivered platform includes Android mobile, Android TV, iOS, Samsung Tizen TV, LG webOS TV and a browser-based web player.

Core functionality includes secure account login, playlist loading, live television channels, movies, television series, content categories, search and structured media browsing. Dedicated playback workflows were implemented for live streams and on-demand content.

The Android application uses a modular architecture with Jetpack Compose, Room local storage, DataStore, dependency injection and Media3 playback. Cached content allows the interface to load quickly after the initial synchronization, while authentication recovery handles expired or invalid sessions.

Television applications were designed with focus-based navigation, remote-control interactions, readable large-screen layouts and platform-specific playback behavior. The wider system was structured to support Xtream-compatible services and additional streaming integrations.
